Nicola McDonald
Nicola has worked as a Child and Family Psychologist in Christchurch for over 10 years. She specialises in working with children, young people and families. Nicola works privately and as a Consultant Child Health Psychologist for CDHB. She has also worked in NGO settings and lectures on UC's Child and Family Psychology programme.
Nicola provides support for children and young people, parents and families. Her interest areas include anxiety, emotion regulation, mood, behaviour, health issues, health anxiety, pain and fatigue and group programme design/delivery. Nicola uses therapeutic approaches including Solution-Focussed, CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing and EMDR. Nicola aims to build strong relationships with children and young people and supports families in accessible, practical ways.
Nicola works in private on Wednesdays.
