Mary O'Donoghue
Mary is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who works primarily with adults of all ages. She works in a respectful, approachable, and authentic manner informed by evidence-based practices.
Mary currently works in private practice and at Te Whatu Ora in specialist adult mental health. She has previously worked in the prison system delivering individual and group treatment and was once a social worker in adult services working with families, couples, and individuals.
Mary’s areas of interest and experience are in the fields of trauma, attachment, interpersonal relationships, and personality vulnerabilities. Mary values diversity and embraces the tenets of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in her practice. She enjoys working with individuals and couples from all walks of life and with a range of experiences and struggles.
Trained in a number of therapeutic modalities, Mary is registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council as an accredited Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) practitioner. Drawing on her knowledge, research, and skills across a range of practices Mary uses an integrative approach that is responsive to client's needs and difficulties.
