Madhu Munasinghe
Madhu is a private clinical psychologist currently advancing her training to specialise as a neuropsychologist. With 12 years of experience in clinical psychology across both public and private sectors, Madhu has been practising privately since 2021. Her career began in Sri Lanka, where she worked in the public sector with the National Child Protection Authority before relocating to New Zealand.
In New Zealand, Madhu has worked with Waikato DHB's Infant Child Adolescents Mental Health Services (ICAMHS) and Child Development Center (CDC) before transitioning to private practice. Her clientele spans diverse demographics, including children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
Beyond her focus on neuropsychology, Madhu holds a particular interest in depression, anxiety and trauma. She offers specialised assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), intellectual disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other neuropsychological conditions.
Madhu practices eclectic therapeutic approach, integrating techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and other therapy modalities based on each client's unique needs and circumstances.
