Jason Chang
Since 2018, Jason has been practicing as a Consultant Psychiatrist. He was previously employed at the Specialist Mental Health Service, Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand). He has also worked as a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Otago.
He is experienced in the assessment and treatment of adult mental health problems, with particular interests in mood disorders and the impact of trauma.
Jason takes a pragmatic and empathic approach to mental well-being and believes in the importance of holistic care, family/whanau inclusion, and healthy boundaries.
Originally from Taiwan, Jason is fluent in both Mandarin and English. He is passionate about improving the awareness of mental wellbeing among Asian communities and improving access to services. He co-chairs the charitable Asian Community Transformation Trust (ACTT) with these goals in mind.
Jason is happy to consider referrals from General Practitioners (GPs) and Psychologists, and is contracted to deliver services under ACC.
