Thinking of an Autism Assessment
If you’ve ever felt different from those around you, struggled with social interactions, or found certain environments overwhelming, an autism assessment can help you understand whether autism might be the reason. Getting assessed can provide clarity about lifelong challenges, access to tailored support and strategies, and a deeper understanding of how your brain works. Whether you’re seeking accommodations, exploring therapy options, or simply looking for answers, an autism assessment could offer valuable insight and reassurance.

What the Autism Assessment Includes
1. Online Questionnaires:
Several online questionnaires are included in the Autism assessment.
One questionnaire is specifically for a parent or caregiver to complete, focusing on childhood symptoms.
2. Assessment:
A clinical interview based on autism-specific diagnostic criteria. This interview includes discussions about:
Sensory sensitivities and how they affect your daily life.
Restricted interests and patterns of focused or repetitive behaviour.
Social interaction challenges, including communication styles and relationships.
3. Childhood Symptom Review:
A review of autism symptoms present in childhood, conducted through a phone interview or email (if the person is in another time zone) with someone who knew you as a child (e.g., a parent, caregiver, or sibling).
4. Feedback Session:
A 30-minute online or phone session to discuss findings, diagnosis (if applicable), and next steps.
Important Notes:
A completed report will be provided within one week of your assessment and addressed to your GP.
